Sector context

Certification in food & beverage

Food businesses face a commercial reality that few other sectors do: a single contamination event can end a brand. Certification exists to make that outcome systematically less likely, and to make the diligence provable when a regulator or a customer asks.

The certification chosen usually follows the buyer. Domestic institutional buyers and hotel groups typically specify HACCP or ISO 22000. Organised retail and export buyers increasingly require GFSI recognition, which means FSSC 22000. Export to OIC markets adds Halal certification with its own recognition requirements.

Every one of our food assessors has processing-floor experience. Hazard analysis is assessed against the actual process flow verified on site, not against the flow diagram as drawn.

What certification delivers here

  • Listing eligibility with organised retail, e-commerce and institutional buyers
  • GFSI-recognised certification for export supply chains via FSSC 22000
  • Tested traceability and recall capability with documented mass balance
  • Reduced batch rejection, hold and rework losses
  • Structured evidence for FSSAI inspection and Schedule 4 requirements

What this sector is actually dealing with

The pressures behind the certification decision

Organisations rarely certify because they woke up wanting a management system. These are the reasons they actually give us.

Buyer scheme requirements

Organised retail, e-commerce grocery and export buyers each specify particular schemes, and ISO 22000 alone does not satisfy a GFSI requirement.

Traceability and recall

Recall capability that has never been exercised is an assumption; mass-balance reconciliation within a defined timeframe is what buyers actually test.

Allergen and contamination control

Shared lines, changeovers and cleaning validation are where most credible food safety findings originate.

FSSAI compliance

Licence scope, Schedule 4 hygiene requirements and labelling rules must align with what the site actually produces.
