Cookie Policy
Which cookies this site sets, which are optional, what happens when you decline them, and how to change your mind later.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Related technologies — local storage and session storage — do a similar job. This policy uses "cookies" to cover all of them, because the distinction matters technically but not to your choice.
Some are necessary for the site to work at all. Others are optional, and this site does not set the optional ones until you tell it to.
The categories we use
| Category | What it does | Can you switch it off? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Site navigation and security, and remembering your cookie choice so we stop asking. Without these the site cannot function. | No — they set no tracking and store no identifiers about you |
| Performance & Analytics | Aggregate measurement of which pages are used and where visitors abandon a journey, so we can improve them. | Yes — off by default |
| Functional | Remembers preferences such as your light/dark theme selection and language. | Yes — on by default, and stored only in your browser |
| Marketing | Measures whether our campaigns reach anyone. We do not use these to build advertising profiles or share them with ad networks. | Yes — off by default |
How consent works here
- On your first visit a consent bar slides up from the bottom of the screen
- You can Accept All, Reject Non-Essential, or Manage Preferences with a toggle for each optional category
- Your choice is recorded in your browser under the key "gmscpl-cookie-consent" and honoured for twelve months
- After twelve months we ask again, because consent that never expires is not really consent
- Rejecting non-essential cookies does not restrict any part of this site — every page, form and document remains fully available
Your theme preference is a special case worth naming: it is stored locally in your browser, is never transmitted to us, and cannot identify you. It exists so the site does not flash the wrong colour scheme at you on every page load.
Changing your mind
- Clear your browser's site data for this domain — the consent bar will reappear on your next visit and you can choose again
- Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies for all sites, or for this one specifically
- Browser privacy or incognito modes discard everything when the window closes
Blocking strictly necessary storage in your browser may cause the consent bar to reappear on every page, because the record of your choice is itself what we would otherwise be storing.
Third-party cookies
Some content on this site is served by third parties, which may set their own cookies subject to their own policies:
- Google Maps — the embedded map on our contact and offices pages loads only when you visit those pages
- Google Fonts — typefaces are loaded from Google’s font service
- Analytics provider — active only where you have accepted the Performance & Analytics category
- Social platforms — only if you follow a link to one of our profiles; we embed no social widgets or tracking pixels on this site
We do not control what third parties do with data collected through their own services, which is why we keep the number of them deliberately small.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Where your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a rejection of non-essential categories and do not set them.
Changes and contact
We update this policy when the cookies we use change. If we add a category, existing consent is not carried over to it and you will be asked again. Questions about this policy: admin@gmscpl.com.
