Life at GMSCPL
Auditing well is a craft, and it is not a comfortable one. It requires telling people things they would rather not hear, holding a position under commercial pressure, and being right about the facts. We hire for that and we protect the people who do it.
How we work
Four principles, in the order they matter
These are operating rules rather than values-page language. The first one in particular is a condition of the job, and we would rather you knew it before applying than after.
A finding is never a commercial decision
No auditor at GMSCPL has ever been asked to soften a finding, and no auditor ever will be. If a client escalates a finding commercially, the escalation goes to the technical function, not to the auditor. This is the single non-negotiable term of employment here.
Competence is verified, not assumed
Auditors are assigned by verified technical competence for the sector and standard. If we do not have someone competent for your scope, we say so and decline — we do not send the nearest available person and hope.
Travel is real, and so is the support for it
This work involves substantial travel to industrial sites. We schedule realistically, we do not run auditors back-to-back across the country, and we do not treat a delayed flight as the auditor’s problem.
Continuous technical development
Standards change, sectors change and auditor competence has to keep up. Scheme training, witnessed audits and calibration sessions are scheduled work time, not something to fit around assignments.
What we offer
Auditing is a travelling, technical job with real pressure in it. The things below exist because they are what makes that job sustainable, not because they read well on a careers page.
- Structured technical development with scheme and standard training funded
- Realistic audit scheduling with travel time recognised as working time
- Clear separation between commercial and technical decision-making
- Health cover for employee and dependants
- Flexible base location for assessors with regional coverage
- Empanelment route for experienced auditors preferring assignment work
Two routes in
Employed assessors work a full audit programme with a base location that can be flexible, structured technical development and a scheduled calendar. This suits people who want the standard, the sector and the calibration work to be part of the job rather than something they arrange themselves.
Empanelled auditors take assignments within their verified technical competence, at their own availability. This suits experienced assessors with an established practice who want audit work without an employment relationship. We empanel continuously and are genuinely short of competent assessors in pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical devices, process safety and automotive core tools.
What we will ask you
Every interview covers one scenario in some form: a client escalates a major nonconformity commercially, and the pressure lands on you. There is a right answer, it is not subtle, and it is the same answer every time.
We also examine work history sector by sector, because competence records are evidenced against real industry experience. The certificate list matters less than where you actually worked and what you actually ran.

Send us your work history
Include your Lead Auditor certifications and, more importantly, your industry experience sector by sector. If there is no open role that fits, we will keep it on file for empanelment.
